One Layer Spots and Stripes

It was the easiest of cards...

It was the hardest of cards...

I am SO not comfortable with one-layer cards and it's one layer week at Less is More.  I am definitely a clean and simple stamper but no matter how simple my card is, I feel like I have to have just one extra layer to frame it.  I virtually always have a standard sized color then a 4 x 5 1/4 white piece on top.  That's just a little bit of a frame...and it makes me happy.  I feel like it keeps the images from falling off the card!?

But I had a great stamps for spots and stripes which was the rest of this week's LIM challenge - so I took the challenge...

Hello

(I still want a bottom black layer to frame it!!)

I also used this week's unscripted sketch.

  • Stamps: The Alley Way Stamps Pillow Talk, Words to Live By
  • Paper: Just white!!!
  • Ink: Memento Blakc and copics
  • Accessories: none!

  7. I know what you mean, Kim. I've ended up layering quite a few of the one layer cards before they were sent! But this could easily stand alone! Love the bright colors and that sweet hello!

  23. I feel the same way Kim; there must be at least two layers. I usually end up cutting down my OLCs and applying them to a base so I can get that bit of frame. :)

Fabulous card and wonderful coloring. You definitely are a master at CAS.

  24. WOW!!! Absolutely love your card. It just pounced right out of the gallery and hit me right smack in the part of my brain that starts to vibrate when it sees something this fetching! Seriously, no other layer needed (although I'm exactly like you and think that without a layer, the card could float away!)

Of course these colors rock, but what REALLY rocks is how you colored each row - so very creative! Thanks for sharing your card with us this week at Unscripted Sketches.
