TE Sneak Peeks Day 1: A Nautical Theme

It's the first day of sneak peeks for the June release from Taylored Expressions!  We are definitely focused on the warmer weather and have nautical and tropical themed projects - with a few other fun things sprinkled in!  Everything you see in the next four days of sneak peeks will be available on Thursday, June 8th. Be sure to check out each of the creative team members' blogs for all of the sneak peeks - starting with the Taylored Expressions blog.

Over the last several months, Taylored Expressions has come out a fabulous series of dies that are unique and very creative - the Sitting Pretty series.  I've used them here (the second card), pieces of them here, and a full scene here.  This month, we are adding to the series with the Sitting Pretty - Nautical set. Check it out!

Taylored Expressions Sitting Pretty Nautical

I am just thrilled with this addition.  I've always been landlocked (growing up in South Dakota and living in Colorado), but I've had amazing vacations on beaches.  I like peaceful beaches - where you can "take a deep breath"!  LOVE the Outer Banks of North Carolina and Maine is stunning!  So these pieces really speak to me. But you could also brighten them up and make it a beach party!

The sentiment is from an older set called "Plot Twist" and seemed perfect for my scene!

Here's a supply list for this card and be sure to keep reading for  a chance at prizes and for another sneak peek!

We are also celebrating release week with some fabulous giveaways! Visit the TE Blog to answer Taylor's Question of the Day for a chance to win a prize from the latest release!

For this nautical release we also have a die set to create a sailboat and to create a fishing boat which I've used here.  It's the On the Water - Fishing Boat die set.

Taylored Expressions On the Water Fishing Boat

Check out all of the amazing details with this die set.  The little life preserver and even the little colored dots on the mast and fishing line.  (BTW - it comes with a little pennant flag for the top, but I wanted to add the sentiment there.)

The sentiment comes from the new stamp set Seas the Day.  I used another stamp from the set on the inside.  The little anchor comes from the Sitting Pretty - Nautical set that I used above.

Tomorrow I'll be more tropical in my two cards - very bright and cheerful! Be sure to head over to the TE Blog for links to the rest of the creative team and to enter the question of the day contest!

  5. Miss Kim, your cards are always so clever and fun! I'm not sure I could have taken all those bitty die cuts and made something so cool. I love that first card! The navy, red and gray together are really calming colors. Love it!! And that boat isn't just a run-of-the-mill boat; it's very unique, and I like everything you've used here. The weaving of your paper strips was brilliant, btw... Two great cards!! Bev

  6. I was surprised to "sea" your nautical theme from the Colorado Rockies! You captured it well. I grew up on the north shore of Long Island and am looking forward to our beach house vacation next month on OBX. Your cards are adorable!
