TE Sneak Peek Day 1: Penguins and Tags

It's the first day of sneak peeks for the October release from Taylored Expressions!! It's the most wonderful time of the year - this release is all about Christmas!!  I have a card for you today and a set of tags - and they are just plain fun!  I have two sneak peeks for you today - and be sure to keep reading all the way to the bottom to find out how you can enter to win release week prizes.

It's only October so it's not quite looking like Christmas yet.  But in my part of the country, the nights are getting down into the 30s and Thursday is forecast for a high of 48°F. No snow yet and sadly, long term forecasts say no snow until December. (Winter is my favorite season!)  So I pretended and made a snowy card using If Penguins Could Talk.

TE If Penguins Could Talk

I thought it would be fun to put the new Twinkling Holiday Embossing Folder between two big trees so I pulled out last year's On the Line North Pole Cutting Plate.  I glittered it to give it up a magical snowy look.  Then I colored the penguin with a bright splash of Christmas colors. The three little sequins come from the new Snow Flurries Sequins Mix which is full of clear, white and sparkling sequins.  It is "penguining to look a lot like Christmas" (at least on my card!)

TE If Penguins Could Talk CloseUp

TE has an entire series called "If _____ Could Talk".  They are so much fun because you get the body, you get accessories, and you get a variety of faces to make the critter look however you want him to look.  If you aren't a fan of winter, the penguin also comes with a grimacing face.  Also a surprised face and a "disguised" face and more.  Be sure to check them out.

There's another sneak peek after this supply list - keep reading!!

TE Copics for Monday

Before I get onto to the cutest die set for making tags - let me tell you about release week prizes.

Taylored Expressions is celebrating Release Week with some fabulous giveaways!  Visit the TE Blog to answer Taylor's Question of the Day for a chance to win the prize from the latest release!

Taylored Expressions has an amazing knack for creating simple die sets that build up to the most amazing creations.  Trim the Tag is no exception.  A few simple shapes that come together to create Santa, Mrs. Claus and their helpful little elf.

TE Trim the Tag Gift Trio

I dressed them up in their finest using the new paper set Playful Patterns - Holiday. I even gave Mrs. Claus a few sparkly gems and Santa Claus a soft felt collar. The die set is amazing; it comes with the tag, the shirt front, and the belts, buttons, buckles, apron, ruffles, etc.

Using the new stamp set Spoiler Alert, I put some fun sentiments on the back side of these tags trying to match the feeling of sentiment to the front side.  Can't you just see the little elf teasing a recipient with the possibility of a pony??

TE Trim the Tag Gift Trio Backside

Since I'm always looking for quick little gifts for friends and hostesses during the holiday season, I used the previously released Tagging Along die set to create a tag-shaped gift box to hold them all. (I need to make at least three more tags to fill it up.)  Also my intent is to tuck in some little bobbins of Christmas colored baker's twine for the recipient's use in tying the tags onto packages.

The Little Bits-Santa Hat is also new with this release.  I used a bit of Marshmallow felt to give it some texture.

Be sure to check out all of the other designers starting on the Taylored Expressions blog because there is just too much for one designer to show off in just a few days.  All of the products that I have used are linked at the bottom of this post, but remember that new products aren't available until Thursday, October 6th, 7 a.m. PST.
